FDi Systems started in the early 90s and has always designed and supplied specialized Server and PC hardware and software to the Military, Local Government and Security Industry. We do not mass produce anything but prefer to service customers that want non standard or custom specification hardware and software. Originally called “Continual Computing”, we created specialized high end servers in the days when you had to build your own if you wanted something powerfull enough to run your whole business. As Continual Computing we had many business contracts such as the fit out of the networks in all “Michael’s” Stores.

As powerful servers became mainstream, our company became heavily aligned to the latest digital security systems. The comapny was renamed Centauri Networked Video later shortened to CNV as we became the sole US distributor for Centauri digital video codecs which in 1996 were one of the first video multiplexers to start displacing analog video in the security industry. Video quality was good and could be guaranteed over long distances so these products were popular with the US Navy and large airports. CNV successfully won very large orders to supply the systems to both DFW and Miami Airports and later for the Lindberg Road Tunnel in St Louis MO. However these systems required an ATM backbone network which was expensive and as video over ethernet became the mainstream product the centauri video multiplexer became obsolescent.

CNV’s expertise in writing custom GUI software for the security industry and providing military and heavy duty industrial computing platforms that could meet military specifications did not go un-noticed and we were chosen by the GE Industrial Group and later Harris Communications to supply demanding military specification PCs and servers and custom GUI control software for US and foreign navy customers. Since the CNV name was no longer a fit, our company was renamed FDi Systems in 2008.

Today FDi Systems provides military grade modular server and PC hardware and custom GUI control software to our customers. Our employees are predominantly ex-military personnel who understand our customer’s needs, know what reliability means to field personnel and can deliver what you require when you require it.
