The X2 was designed to meet a niche requirement for customers that did not have enough physical space for an X5 chassis and only needed 2 or 1 X-Series module. The X2 utilizes identical X-Series modules as the X5 but they are mounted horizontal in a 2RU 19 inch rack mount chassis only 11 inches deep. The X2 shares the same very low power consumption and high density computing power characteristics as the X5 especially when deployed with multiple virtual servers per module. Like the X5, the X2 has no back plane and both modules have their own individual power supply unit making replacement or swap out under power a simple operation that can be accomplished in under 2 minutes without tools.

X2 Chassis

The X2 is not currently certified for shock or vibration, however it has been purpose designed to meet these standards. If customers wish to utilise this product and need certification, FDi Systems will work with and support them to gain certification for this product.
