The X5 is by far the most popular product chassis configuration in our line-up accounting for almost 90% of chassis sales. At only 11 inches deep and providing 5 module slots in the 5RU 19 inch rack mount configuration, this product is ideally suited for configurations from bulkhead mounted shipborne cabinets to limited space airborne use as well as normal 19 rack configurations. With the very low power consumption and high density computing power especially when deployed with multiple virtual servers per module, this product is fast becoming the chassis of choice for customers with demanding rugged environment needs where time on UPS power and ease of repair or replacement are also a consideration.

The X5 has no back plane and each module has its own individual power supply unit making replacement or swap out under power a simple operation that can be accomplished in under 2 minutes without tools. Major software upgrades in the field can now be accomplished in minutes by simply rippling the hardware and the cutover time is reduce from hours with major disruptions and issues to minutes with a fully upgraded module that has been tried and tested off-site.

Like the X-Series modules the X5 Chassis is made from aircraft grade aluminum with a clear iridite finish and all stainless steel fasteners to withstand the harshest of environments whilst keeping the weight to a minimum. This product has become a top selling product for FDi Systems.
